Jay Montana is a guitarist living in Chicago IL. A versatile player, Jay’s style reflects his rock and blues roots fused with Jazz, Funk, and Soul to create a truly unique voice. Jay first picked up the guitar at age nine, inspired by his folk-playing father. He was instantly engaged by the music-making process and began his artistic journey. Playing in local bands as a teen and through high school eventually led Jay to attend DePaul University in Chicago where he studied Music and Sound Engineering. Upon graduation he immersed himself in the vibrant Chicago music scene, performing and recording in a variety of genres. Notable performance venues in Chicago include The Park West, Double Door, Schubas, Lincoln Hall, and the Elbo Room. Jay is available to work professionally with other artists – for session work or as a sideman.
